Hi! Welcome to Social Emotional Workshop. This blog is a dedicated to being a resource for counselors, psychologists, teachers, and other educators supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioral learning.

I'm Laura, a former school psychologist living in New York City. I was also a special education director and ran a camp site for students on the autism spectrum. Nowadays, I blog, create, and train others. I passionately and obsessively think about engaging and research-based ways to help students grow.

Why I'm Here

I created this blog when I left my last school position and was looking for opportunities to consult and train schools in SEL implementation. It is my way to provide valuable content to as many educators as I can.

More importantly, you get to help students become the best versions of themselves. I want to make it as easy as possible for you to do that. I've been there. Good resources and information is hard to come by and we do not have a wealth of time.

What's In It For You

On this blog you will find:

  • In-depth, easy to use resources for the most challenging students.
  • Counseling tools that are engaging and flexible so you can use them again and again.
  • Clear information and advice on social emotional learning to help you be an advocate to your school and administration.
  • Support to build a responsive multi-tiered system of supports.

Over time, I hope that this becomes one of your go to resources when you have a problem to solve. Bookmark it just case. 🙂
